QUARTERLY MEETING MINUTES - DECEMBER 18, 2000
UPPER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, OAKS PA
President, Todd Meltsch called the meeting to order at 0907.
Immediately after the call to order Vice President Bob Duncan explained the yellow awards program form and the importance of submitting same for consideration at the March meeting.

PRESIDENTS REPORT
President Meltsch ran down the roster of newly elected BOCA officials including Pennsylvania’s own Cindy Davis to the Board of Directors
The President reviewed the BOCA adoption of their sponsored resolutions (2000-6 & 2000-7) to merge BOCA with the ICC and change toe code development process.
Mike Perrone was recognized by the President for his receiving the prestigious WALKER S. LEE Award from BOCA at the annual conference.
Updating of the web site for the coming year was discussed to include a new application form, new quarterly meeting dates and adding new municipalities to the member page.
TREASURERS REPORT
Current Quarterly balance of 11373.67 was reported, a motion was made by Stan Altzman with a second by Jeff Gentile to accept the treasurer’s report.

Bob Duncan reported on the successful completion of our Plan Review 2000 IRC, and our Accessibility seminars. Further, Bob outlined our upcoming training to include:

NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE
Bob Loeper reported that nominations are open for all PACO Board of Directors and Officer positions for the coming year. Please contact him if you are interested in serving this organization.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Cal Bonnenberger and seconded by Jim Peet to approve the minutes of September 7, 2000.

OLD BUSINESS
Outreach Program: Lee Milligan explained this program and encouraged current members to contact him if they are aware of any new Code Officials in their area. Lee Milligan asked the membership to promote the Building Code For Builders program if they are aware of any builders or groups of builders that may be interested in this program.
Code Book Purchases: Bob Duncan reviewed the program and encouraged members to purchase their books through PACO and save 10% on their orders.
PENNBOC Training Reciprocity: President Meltsch authorized Secretary Milligan to contact the Executive Board of PENNBOC to re-affirm our agreement with them to provide their members with our training at PACO member cost.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by Ernie Schmidt to authorize the Treasurer to invest at the best interest of the membership those portions of the treasury that are appropriate in a long term investment vehicle. IE: Certificate of Deposit etc. Motion was seconded by Stan Altzman.

GOOD OF THE ORGANIZATION
Several items were discussed under this topic as follows:
The new federal law that exempts churches from compliance with local regulations that interfere with their right to worship and the possible ramification to our work.
The fact that in most cases the final electrical underwriter inspection does not include the HVAC connections and that we should check these connections to insure compliance with the NEC.
Endless pools which are indoor pools used for physical training or therapy that in some cases are not being properly inspected for electrical connections.
Possible upcoming seminar on Blaze Master sprinkler pipe.
